About the destination

Merano/Meran is a lively spa town, marked by expansive parks, easy walking paths, botanical gardens, and waterways that invite visitors to relax and enjoy the green and serene atmosphere of the old town. Visitors will also discover numerous shops and restaurants in the medieval arcades and next to the elegant art nouveau buildings. The natural spectacle of the snow-capped glacier peaks provides a contrast to the palm trees and exotic plants of the beautiful gardens in the old town or in the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle. The cultural program on offer is equally varied, featuring several high-end food and wine events such as the Merano Spring Festival, the Merano Grape Festival, the Merano Music Weeks, the Merano WineFestival, and the Merano Christmas Market.
